Echoing the above motto, Shri Shikshayatan School was founded on January 3, 1954 to empower education amongst young women by enlightening and engaging their bright minds to foster a progressive nation.A lamp has been placed as our logo – “Prajwalito Dyanamay Padeepaha” – which means “a lamp of knowledge has been lit and that all may bathe in its sight”. The blue outline is the indication that the sky is the limit.In the social scenario of 1920, there was a need to popularize the concept of educating young girls by empowering them with knowledge and quality education. With this vision in mind, a small but progressive school, Marwari Balika Vidyalaya was established at Burrabazar under the stewardship of Shri Ghanshyamdas Birla and Shri Jugal Kishore Birla along with a body of enlightened members of the Rajasthani community settled in Kolkata.Later the society was named “Shikshayatan Foundation” and today under the guidance of this body, four educational institutions find their presence:Shri Shikshayatan School shares a common campus with Shri Shikshayatan College. Transport route keeps getting late. It is very disturbing
I think as a parent I could not have managed shuttling between school, sports classes and guitar tutions. I am happy that my child is getting all of it in one secure campus.
A school can be taxing on the mind and can take a lot of time. But I was guided well and as a parent I am happy I chose this school.
