The school had started functioning in January 1904 in a small way with just 60 students in Tamil Medium and 50 in the English Medium. The FMM nuns imbued with the desire to do something beneficial for society realized that education is most essential for the betterment of society. Hence, they persuaded the parents to send their children to school and convinced the locals that their missionary aim was only selfless service.
