Shiwalik International School was established in 1994 with in a vision and dream to provide quality education to the children coming to the institution.Shiwalik International School is a Co-educational, day, day-boarding and a residential English medium public school situated in the Doon Valley. It is a picturesque valley set amongst the foothills of the mighty Himalayas. It is 250 km north of New Delhi and is easily accessible by road, rail and air. 35 kms to the North are Mussoorie-the Queen of Hills.Shiwalik International School is a full boarding school for boys only and not simply a school which welcomes boarders. The school’s beautiful seventy acre campus with a vast range of flora, fauna and bird life provide all boys with ample green space and fresh air where they are able to live and learn. It is an environment rarely offered by schools in large and small cities in India, or indeed some other countries. All boys are able to seek advice from the teaching staff, the Wellness Centre and the school counsellor living on the school campus throughout the seven day week. Boys discover that they have much more time to study and pursue their wider interests. There is no wasted time travelling to learn Sport, Art, Music, Drama and benefit from Careers Guidance as well as other necessary university and college entrance preparation. ... The faculty for junior classes(i.e, upto 8th class including 8th) is very good. They would nurture u in every way possible, be it academically, morally or socially. Since the students are lesser in no. compared to the other schools, therefore the teachers can pay the required amount of attention to each and every student. Now, the sports opportunities have reduced considerably after the P.T.I Mr. Jeet Singh Bisht left the school but in my time, we used to participate in different interschool sports competitions. The music and dance teachers are also good. One thing I would like to highlight is the fact that the teachers(especially in junior classes are very much co-operative, more than that in any other school in Dehradun). But the things start getting worse in senior classes(i.e,9th onwards including 9th). The quality of teachers reduces considerably. They do not teach much in the class and would try to persuade u to join their tuition classes by not giving u the marks u deserve in the examinations. Due to this, many students get demotivated as if they're not gud enough and eventually end up being in the teacher's tuition. But going to their tuitions is a waste of time and money, trust me. So, if u've already joined Shiwalik, I wud recommend u to leave the school in 9th class(or atleast in 11th class). But on a positive note, considering the amount of freedom u get here, and the fact that u can do whatever u are interested in, with the teachers by your side in every situation, whether gud or bad(especially in junior classes), it is one of the best schools in which u can admit your child(till 9th preferably) where your child can get nurtured in every sphere of his life and most importantly end up becoming a gud human being. I wud like to add that it's the child and only the child who is responsible for his success and failure. Obviously parental support and the support of the teachers is as important as it seems but a child himself decides whether to go in the right direction or get entangled in the enticing, perpetuating but wrong habits. All he requires is a guidance and an understanding of the gud and the bad which is provided with utmost responsibility in Shiwalik International School. Thank you for reading.😇
The best gift any parent can give their children is a good foundation for their educational future done within a safe environment. The staff at the school are conscientious, skillful and knowledgeable. The children academically grow in an environment that is very nurturing.
There are no sports in the school.
Sending the kid to study a little away from home was a choice I made after many second thoughts. But after admitting my child here I have never had any such thoughts. I am very happy
