The British School is an international, not-for-profit school located in the heart of the diplomatic area of New Delhi. The 56-year old school offers high quality education to expatriate and local families by drawing on the best facets of a rich and culturally diverse community.

The British school offers the National Curriculum of England adapted to an international context from EYFS to Year 9, the IGCSE in Years 10 & 11 and the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12 & 13. With students from 66 nationalities, the school provides student-centred education in a safe, stimulating and multicultural environment.

The British School offers an engaging curriculum based upon National Curriculum of England adapted to an international context, the IGCSE and the IB Diploma Programme. The stimulating and supportive learning environment enables students to foster a passion for learning and curiosity that helps them develop high aspirations and a lifetime of memories.

Primary school follows the National Curriculum of England and ensures that students moving to other international schools have an easy transition with the demands of the curriculum.


The Secondary School gives students a supportive, yet challenging learning environment, helping them acquire lifelong skills. The curriculum is designed to ensure that all students receive a broad, balanced and clearly articulated learning environment, building upon the foundations laid in Primary school. Students are prepared for the internationally recognised IGCSE and IB Diploma programmes through exciting, application based class room teaching and learning.

The school offers a range of engaging, inclusive and structured activities and experiences to support the holistic development of students. The programme creates pathways of opportunity under four strands: Curricular, Global Intercultural and Community.

Students of Years 1-6 have the opportunity to access a variety of activities organised by external specialists after the school day. In addition, Years 4 – 6 also attend the Extended Day Programme where extra-curricular activities are run by class teachers twice a week as part of the curriculum.
