St. Jude’s Ooty is a fully residential school nested at Kotagiri. Excellence is the milestone and dedication is the perseverance at St. Jude’s Ooty. It is an International school committed to providing value based education to cater to the holistic development of the child through dedicated service.

History

St. Jude’s Ooty was founded in the year 1979 by Mr. P.P. Dhanarajan. This Institution is raised on the strong conviction that the country and the world at large has a glorious future, if we shun religious, linguistic and caste fanaticism with the slogan of ‘Universal Brotherhood’. 

Academics

The Institution is affiliated to the ISC Council, which has its origin from the Cambridge School system in the U.K. and prepares students for the I.C.S.E. examination after the completion of a ten year course. The course is recognized by all the Universities in India and Abroad. The council for the Indian School Certificate Examination was established in 1958, by the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate. 

Infrastructure

Located in Ooty, excellent hostel facilities have been provided separately for boys and girls.

The cabinet of the institution gives guidelines for choosing the menu on a monthly basis, in consultation with the mess officers.

The well-drawn out menu meets the taste buds of all the children hailing from India and across the world.

Activities

At St. Jude’s Ooty the aim is to cater to the child’s all round development. Physical fitness and mental makeup have become the order of the day. Hence sports and games form an integral and important part of the activities and are compulsory for all students. Each day starts with the morning P. T or Yoga which prepares the child to face the day, both mentally and physically. Compulsory games in the evenings train the children  in 

  1. Football
  2. Basket Ball
  3. Volley Ball
  4. Table Tennis
  5. Lawn Tennis
  6. Badminton
  7. Athletics

Besides the regular music class where singing is emphasized , instrumental music is taught by experts which include the organ, the guitar and the drums.

Bharathanatayam, the traditional Indian dance is compulsory for all girls. Boys are also encouraged in this art form of dance.

Having graduated as an engineer from NIT, Calicut with his MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, Pawas has over 20 years of experience primarily in the education and training technology sales and product management. Pawas has worked in companies like Wipro and NIIT and Educomp. At NIIT Pawas was instrumental for leading and the design and subsequent sales of NIIT's homegrown Learning Management System to institutes of higher education in Singapore. Pawas was leading Universal Learn Today a school advisory and consulting business of the Indian Today Group.
