Montfort School Yercaud -A school of Excellence

Montfort School has been delivering a remarkable set of students ever since the beginning of the 19th century.In the New Millennium as a “School of Excellence”, it has further qualified its beliefs in the philosophy of quality education.Excellence in academics’ is our prime concern though sports and games and other extracurricular activities form an integral part of Montfort.

History 

Established in the year 1917 by Rev. Bro. Eugene Mary, Montfort School, Yercaud is a co-ed secondary school run by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel. The school motto is Virtus Et Labor, which translates to “Virtue and Labor”

Academics

The school follows the State Board curriculum starting Std III to XII prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Montfort School is the only Centre in Yercaud for the Higher Secondary Examination.Being a boarding school, the school works for all 7 days a week. However, regular classes are organised only from Monday to Saturday. 

Infrastructure

The school campus has three sections of hostel facilities—The boys of Stds. VIII to XII; reside in  the main campus Dormitories. The Junior boys of Stds. III to VII have their dormitories in Mayfield. MLT Home is the campus exclusively for girl students.

The boarders are provided with comfortable and spacious dormitories, hygienic sanitation and clean drinking water. Yercaud being a hill station, solar and electric water heaters are installed to provide hot water for bathing and washing.

The dormitories are spacious and comfortable with individual cot and mattress, locker, intercom and telephone facility. They are provided with separate linen room and attached toilets.

Activities

The Young Scientists Forum of Montfort founded in 1983 undertakes a number of activities with a zeal for innovation and quest for scientific knowledge.

The Computer Club of Montfort comprises the children, who are aspiring to build a future in the same line with keen interest in computer technology.

Montfort Commerce and Economics Association helps interested students to be successful entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

National Cadet Corps instills in the budding youth the motto “Unity and Discipline” and gives them an experience of adventure and expedition being a part and parcel of a Cadet’s life

Writer at Edustoke and Spectrum A teacher by profession Khushboo gradually moved to training teachers and designing curriculum on platforms like Edu-e-web. As a founding member of the team of the first Global Schools Alliance progressive school in India, she gained thorough training on Project based learning. Having taught in various schools for several years, Khushboo has gained her expertise in early years. She has worked in the capacity of a curriculum manager for preschool chains like Footprints and Klay Prep Schools and Day care.
