Mastering O-Level Physics: 4 Tips to Succeed in the Examinations

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Introduction

Going with the recent trend of Oppenheimer, which shows that Physics excels with multiple concepts defining every action of humans and objects, space and time.

Thus, you need the right approach to figure out the concepts and score well in exams.

But when it comes to reading physics, most people think that they can master it by reading a book or two. However, that’s not true at all.

If you want to ace the exam with full marks, you’ll need to go through various notes and some other stuff as well. Keep reading to know more about them.

Tips To Succeed in Physics Exams

As mentioned earlier, physics is a tricky subject. It has a little bit of everything present in every branch of science. Thus, it’d be best to be on par with every concept, law, and theorem.

Here are a few ways you can do it –

1.      Understanding Concepts

When you are learning a subject like physics, it is imperative to understand the plethora of concepts and laws. After all, they’re an integral part of the subject. Hence, you must take the matter to the external world to enhance your understanding.

Great teachers like Richard Feynman used nature and the outside to enhance their knowledge of the subject. For example, if you are learning inertia, you can sit in a bus and see how your body moves with the vehicle despite resting.

This way, you do not have to cram when the examination arrives.

Rather, you can relax and focus on learning theories or practice sums. You will definitely score an A on your physics paper.

2.      Seek Help When Needed

It is easier to learn any subject with help because not now and then, there is a new concept propped up in the physics book. Hence, do not shy away from taking help from your teachers and friends.

This way, you can resolve your issues and subject problems affecting your exam performance. It is because chapters on thermal equilibrium, gravitation, and light are tricky to understand.

Therefore, with the right help, you can learn about the subject and answer questions quickly and correctly.

Remember: Focus on maths. It is key if you move forward with physics because you might have to do critical calculations. Even greats like Einstein and Oppenheimer lacked expertise in calculations before they could something amazing that we are aware of now.

3.      Build Up A Learning Plan

A learning plan is a critical learning technique while preparing for an exam. You can take the help of –

  • 2-3-5-7 study technique: It is a unique learning method that helps you to keep up with your physics lessons.

The technique says a student, after one chapter completion, should revisit the chapter in two days, then three days, then five days, and then after seven days.

This way, they won’t forget what they learned in the chapter and score well on exams.

  • Feynman Technique: It refers to writing the chapter learned as if you are explaining to someone, and then if you get stuck, go to the book, clear the doubt, and try to align with the real-life examples and events.

4.      Maintain A Revision And Formula Sheet

It is key if you are preparing to top the exams. Maintaining a revision sheet will help you review the concepts you learned earlier and update you with the previous development.

Further, the more you revise, there is a high chance your doubts and issues about the subject will become more clear and sound to you.

Hence, you can score high in your next physics exam. You must also keep a formula sheet that will store all the necessary formulas required for the exam.

So, if you keep track of the sheet, you can excel in exams.

And if you still need to catch up in the exams and look for solutions, you can consult O level physics tuition. They have a good record of developing and enhancing knowledge of physics in students.

There Are No Shortcuts In Achieving A+

As the title suggests, you must work hard in physics because it is a very technical and precise conceptual subject. Therefore, you must practice and practice to reduce your weakness and excel in exams.

Therefore, do not think of cramming or studying overnight and score an A+. Work hard, and you will achieve well.
