Daly college is one of the oldest co-educational institutions in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. With a history of producing some of the famous personalities in the field of art, medical sciences and other public life sectors, Daly College has made a remarkable impact in the educational world.
The Daly College is a co-educational residential and day boarding school located in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. It was founded by Sir Henry Daly of the British Indian Army during India’s colonial British Raj. The school was established in 1870 as the Residency School. It was then renamed as the East Rajkumar College in 1876, and in 1882, it came to be known as The Daly College. It was promoted by the Resident Governor of the erstwhile Presidency, to educate the children of the royalty, nobility and aristocracy of Central Indian Princely States of the ‘Marathas’, ‘Rajputs’, ‘Mohameddans’ and ‘Bundelas’. It is one of the oldest co-educational boarding schools in the world.
The Daly College is situated on a sprawling 118.8 acre lush green campus with well designed lawns, colourful gardens and two beautiful artificial lakes. There are a large number of playing fields & courts in an area of 282992.5 sq. meters in addition to heritage as well as modern buildings.
In 2010, it was ranked first in Infrastructure, Internationalism and Sports Education amongst the top boarding schools in India by Education World – C fore which is India’s Most Respected Schools’ Survey. It has also been ranked as first Day-Cum-Boarding school in Indore and MP and second in India by Education World-C fore recently.
It is one of the best boarding schools in Indore with affiliation from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and CIE. along with academics school is an active participant in co-curricular activities.
