Dalhousie Public School -Education close to nature

The Dalhousie Public School aims to mentor the students through a system beyond pure academic achievement into development of the overall personality. The main point in this development process at the Dalhousie Public School is the moulding of attitudes that lead the child to transform naturally into a well balanced individual who will effectively meet the challenges of the world, as well as contribute responsibly to global growth.

History

Dalhousie Public School, founded over four decades ago in 1970, is a residential co-educational school.

The school is divided into 10 houses –

Rana Partap, Subhash, Ajit, Nehru, Shastri & Shivaji,Patel,Gandhi.Tagore,Bhagat

Academics

Affiliated to the CBSE, the academic session of the Dalhousie Public School commences at the beginning of March and finishes in the first week of December with a brief two week Summer Break in the last week of July / First week of August.

Computer Education is introduced at the Kindergarten stage enabling the young students to comprehend the technology tools with ease and become acquainted with the concept.

For students who require extra support, extra tutorial classes are arranged by the School.

Infrastructure

Located in the foothills of the Dhaula Dhar Ranges of the Himalayan Mountains Dalhousie Public School enjoys breathtaking views at an altitude of 7,000 feet. Dalhousie is one of the most serene hill resorts in India.

Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals are provided at the school cafeteria. It is ensured that the diet is wholesome, nutritious and well-balanced.

Along with facilities for dance, theatre, art and music the campus is equipped to host a variety of sports both indoor and outdoor. The infrastructure has a provision for students to play basketball, volleyball, badminton, table-tennis, cricket, judo, karate, gymnastics and roller-skating. 

Activities

Students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities which have an important role in their overall development. Debates, declamations, group discussions symposia and quiz competitions are held periodically on topics of current international significance, not only to expand awareness of the world outside the school, but also to give the  children valuable experience in public speaking.

Apart from sports, arts and performing arts a variety of educational excursions are arranged for the students.

Pawas has worked in companies like Wipro and NIIT and Educomp. At NIIT Pawas was instrumental for leading and the design and subsequent sales of NIIT's homegrown Learning Management System to institutes of higher education in Singapore. Pawas was leading Universal Learn Today a school advisory and consulting business of the India Today Group.
