Founded in 1989 by Ratna Reddy, an early childhood education postgraduate of the University of Iowa (USA), CHIREC was promoted a quarter century ago as a new age preschool offering contemporary US-inspired early childhood care and education. Since then responding to pressing public demand, it metamorphosed into a fully-fledged internationally benchmarked K-12 school sited on a state-of-the-art six-acre campus in Kondapur, in Hyderabad’s steel-n-glass Hi-Tech City. Affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), UK and International Baccalaureate (IB), Geneva, the CBSE-affiliated CHIREC Public School is ranked the #1 co-ed day school in Telangana and Hyderabad, and the CAIE and IB-affiliated CHIREC International is separately ranked among the country’s Top 10 international day schools in the EducationWorld India School Rankings 2017-18. The school is divided into 4 sections: Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Senior Secondary. The Pre-Primary section, consisting of Nursery, PP1 and PP2, adopts the specially designed CHIREC Early Years Program that aims to facilitate the intellectual, physical, social, emotional and creative development of a child. When students enter the Primary section in Grade 1, they have the option to choose between the national CBSE curriculum and the internationally-recognized Cambridge curriculum that will carry them through Primary and Secondary until Grade 10. While both curricula are solid bases to build from, CHIREC also places high importance on extracurriculars, life skills, and personality building activities. At Senior Secondary (Grades 11 and 12), the school offers CBSE and the International Baccalaureate programme.
