Army Public School, Sector 37 is a coeducational day school affiliated to the central Board of Secondary Education. The school was founded on September 1, 1995 with 59 students in four classrooms with eight teachers. In year’s time the school was established as a composite school for classes I to X with student strength of 421 children.
In 1997 school was upgraded to senior secondary level with science and commerce streams with 13 subjects and later humanities/management science stream was introduced with a total of 14 subjects. The school now has three different streams with 14 different combinations of subjects.
The school’s mission is to create or augment educational facilities to meet the needs of children in order to enable them to contribute to the society and promote development of academic excellence, discipline, personal character, high sense of values and national integration among children and provide an education that amalgamates Indian idealism and philosophy with the rational outlook of the west.
According to the school it curriculum aims to mould children to be exible, creative, and proactive with ability to solve real life problems, make decisions, think critically, communicate ideas effectively and work efficiently within teams and groups. The school’s teaching methodology is that of self directed learning and integrated with technology to provide seamless opportunities to its students along with imparting of values of Indian heritage and tradition.
To sharpen the inbound skills in students, the school has established hobby clubs. Each club has an identity, style and agenda of its own.
