Best Indian Schools With Breathtaking Views

When choosing a school, many parents ignore one of the most important factors: quality of life. School life is the best memories of anybody’s life. Sometimes, when we take a look at old photos and take a trip down memory lane, we realize that it was not just the school, but that beautiful building in the beautiful environment is what makes it so memorable. There are many beautiful schools in India which have amazing scenery surrounding them.

Here are some of the Indian schools with breathtaking views:

1.    Lawrence School Lovedale, Ooty

Situated in Ooty, the school is surrounded by a green environment straight from the sets of a Bollywood movie. It is named after its founder Sir Henry Montgomery Lawrence, who died in 1857 rebellion. He created a chain of schools to provide education to the students of the British army. These schools have a football ground, a cricket ground, a hockey field and a basketball court. The schools follows CBSE curriculum and also has a Robotics lab.

 

 

2.    Montfort School, Yercaud

It is a boarding school at  Yercaud with alumni like Shashi Tharoor and Nagesh Kukunoor. The building is surrounded by hills. It is the perfect place to nourish bright minds. Built in 1917, it is a secondary school for boys and girls. It has a chapel. Currently, it has classes from III to XII.

 

 

3.    St. Paul’s, Darjeeling

This is an all boy’s independent boarding school that was actually founded to provide education to students with poor family backgrounds. It was opened in 1823 and moved to its current location at Darjeeling in 1864.

  

4.    St. Mary’s High School, Mount Abu

The school was opened in 1887. In 1929, it was taken over by the Christian brothers. The school is built in the oasis of Mount Abu in the Rajasthan’s Aravalli range, between the jungle so that it is far away from the disturbance of the city. It provides a peaceful environment for the students. Godhra Dam is located near the school, which makes it even more beautiful.

5.    Doon School, Dehradun

Founded in 1935, the school is a boy’s only boarding school. Its founder Satish Ranjan Das modelled the school like the British public school. The campus of the school is spread across 70 acres. Also known as Eton of India, the school has one of the best sports facilities.

  

6.    Heritage School, Pune

Located in Talegoan, Pune, it is a residential school. It was founded by Pearson schools in 2005. The campus is situated in the outskirts of Pune. The building was designed on the basis of modern architecture. Affiliated to CBSE, the school has facilities like laundry, cafeteria, etc

7.    Wynberg-Allen School, Mussoorie

The school was founded in 1888 in the hills of Kulri, Mussoorie. It is a boarding school that is stretched across 300 acres on the hills of Mussoorie. There are a lot of amenities that the school provides, including a gymnasium room, a sports ground and a skating rink. Apart from this, there is an in-house hospital for emergencies. The alumni of this school are known as Alwynians or Allenites.

  

8.    Bishop Cotton School, Shimla

Bishop Cotton School is one of the oldest boys only boarding schools in Asia. Located in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, the school has produced many politicians, army officers, ministers, judges and ambassadors. The founder of the school, Bishop George Edward Lynch Cotton, also founded Bishop Cotton Boys’ and Bishop Cotton Girls’ School in Bangalore. Stretched across 56 acres, the school has Holy Trinity Chapel at its heart. It even has a gym with all the modern facilities.

  

9.    Druk White Lotus School, Leh

The school was founded when the people of Ladakh requested a school that would help them keep their tradition alive. Located in Shey, Ladakh, the school is also known as Druk Padma Karpo School. The school is designed by engineers from Ove Arup & Partners and Arup Associates. The design is elegant and inspired by a Tibetan monastery. They tried to make the building effective in extreme climate using different materials and techniques along with an environmental design.

10.    Welham Girls’ School, Dehradun

Founded in 1957, the school is a traditional all-girls’ boarding school located in Dehradun. Miss Oliphant established the school to provide quality education to girls in the country. Today, the school has become one of the top performing schools. Its alumni include personalities like Brinda Karat and Deepa Mehta.
