History
From a hostel for Bahai children established on 1st August 1945 with sixteen children, New Era High has grown into a leading international educational institution. It is under the supervision of the New Era High School Committee Trust and under the guidance of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha`is of India.
The student body of New Era High School has grown from a modest 16 children to 850 girls and boys from not only India but also a large number of other countries.
Academics
Inspired by the universal tenets of the Baha’i Faith, New Era combines the best practices that promote a dynamic process of teaching-learning and cultivates a culture that empowers its student community to strive for academic and moral excellence.
Moral Education is an imortant part of the school curriculum. To ensure that new students are aligned to the moral framework that is stressed upon at New Era the admission process will include a one-on-one interaction. This exercise helps in assessing the moral values of the child and her/his understanding of the importance of inculcating these values. This interaction will also help in guiding her/him along the course of the program.
The academic evaluation is done by testing the candidates in Math and English for Standard I to VII. Standard VIII, IX and XI will be tested in Math, English and Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology)
Follows CBSE & IGCSE board. Caters to the students from grade 1to grade 12.
Infrastructure
The school is located in Panchgani and the present location was established into in 1953 and consisted of five buildings. A play field and several added dormitories in 1980s gave the school the room to add over 900 students bringing the total student population to over 1000. In the 1990s the campus went through massive infrastructure growth and renovation – gaining its own power plant, campus fencing, intercom system, phone system for students, parents and staff, three wells, solar heating for the dining hall and a large garden. Computers handle student records, accounts, maintenance, personnel, and other administrative areas as well as facilitating student-parent communication.
