About School: In the year 1948 few woman of Pune, who took training at Dr. Madame Maria Montessori’s guidance camp, started a child oriented kindergarten. In that few enthusiastic women came together and established an institute named Association Montessori International Maharashtra branch Pune. The school which was founder on 31st August 1954 was originally named as AMI Balak Mandir and was situated at PYC gymkhana women’s club Pune. Among these women special mention must be made of Smt. Radhabai Ranade, Smt. Shyamalatai Natu, Smt. Pri yamvadatai Ranade, Smt. Premlatabai Kirtane, Smt. Tarabai Sathe and others. In the beginning Marathi kindergarten was started. Due to the increasing importance of English, in course of time English medium section too was started.
