About School: Gyan Kendra Educational Complex was founded as a humble beginning by Late Prof. Ramnath Pandey, an educationist & then "The Minister of State of Maharashtra" & prominent visionaries (intellectuals, doctors, educationists and businessmen) in 1976 as a small public library at Satyendra Bhavan, Andheri (E). In 1979 a plot of land measuring area about 4000 sq.meter was allotted to Gyan Kendra at Four Bungalows, Andheri (W) by the Government of Maharashtra to run an English medium school. The Mission statement of Gyan Kendra is to strive only for excellence through education and discipline. "Tamso Ma Jyotirgamay"- from ignorance to enlightenment i.e. education is to draw out that which is lying latent in the child. Just like the Oyster which catches a speck of sand and finally transforms it into a beautiful pearl layer by layer, Prof. Ramnath Pandey - the founder President laid the foundation for the college before he left for his heavenly abode in 2004.Gyan Kendra means the centre of knowledge.........an institute, which provides affordable quality education to all sectors of the society, equip children with knowledge and skills, inculcates values, identifies hidden talent, provide opportunities to students to realize their full potential to shape up their future dreams and become responsible citizen.
