About School: Dayawati Modi International, established in 1983 at Modipuram, Meerut, is a sanctuary of learning. It functions under the aegis of Gujar Mal Modi Charitable Trust which has created a web of educational institutions to provide quality learning. It is suitably located just 6 km. away from the city of Meerut and is easily accessible from Delhi. It is an English medium Senior Secondary co-educational school affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi; and has carved a niche for itself on the map of Meerut, situated amidst the serene surroundings with a picturesque backdrop, away from the bustle of the city. The academy provides an ideal environment for the students to study, to relax, to socialise and be with nature. The academy follows the CBSE pattern of education. It offers two streams- Science and Commerce. The academy has fully-equipped, spacious labs, each of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Social Studies and Mathematics. A well-stocked and multi-purpose library, a fine arts section suited to impart skills in Music, Dance, Art and Craft and fully furnished Computer Labs are also offered. The carefully planned curriculum ensures close contact between the teacher and the taught, enabling richer, all round development of the children. Learning is achieved mostly by doing, and children accumulate instructions through audio visual aids, charts, film and library reading. Art, painting, craft, music, dance, yoga, elocution and dramatics receive as much attention as athletics, games and sports. Students are encouraged to augment classroom instructions through project works excursions and trips. Community service is seen as an essential part in school, preparing the students to adopt more responsible attitudes early on in life. The management believes that their responsibility goes beyond merely imparting classroom education; rather, it prepares children for life-nurturing values that will help them grow into responsible, caring adults with respect and concern for others.Read More

The Theory of Multiple Intelligences was created by Dr. Howard Gardner in 1983. Gardner's theory places an emphasis on the idea that the traditional understanding of intelligence by means of IQ testing is far too limited. To broaden this notion of intelligence, Gardner introduced eight different types of intelligences consisting of: Logical/Mathematical, Linguistic, Musical, Spatial, Bodily-Kinesthetic, Naturalist, Interpersonal, and Intrapersonal.
What is intelligence? As defined by Gardner, it is the ability to solve problems or fashion products that are valuable in one or more cultural settings
Each person may have different multiple intelligence. Even everyone can possess more than one of it as Gardner divided the multiple intelligences into eight kinds-
1. Verbal/Linguistic Intelligence - ability to use words and language.
2. Logical/Mathematical Intelligence ability to use reason, logic and numbers.
3. Bodily/Kinesthetic Intelligence ability to control body movements and handle objects skillfully.
4. Visual/Spatial Intelligence ability to perceive the visual.
5. Musical Intelligence ability to produce and appreciate music.
6. Interpersonal Intelligence ability to relate and understand others.
7. Intrapersonal Intelligence ability to self-reflect and be aware of one's inner state of being.
8. Naturalist Intelligence Abilities to recognize plants and animals, to make distinctions in the natural world, to understand systems and define categories.
Schools adopting the Multiple Intelligence theory are listed with Edustoke here.
