About School: We believe, education is the birthright of every child. A child is born with immense potential. There should be the Gurukulam system of education where no child is ever rejected, where personal attention is given to every child focusing on physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual strengths which are the four pillars of education. GURUKULAM MISSION Pursue a child centred and activity oriented education where a child is made confident, responsible and self-reliant through individual attention to be leaders of the global village, based on a harmonious blending of Gurukulam and modern education concepts. GURUKULAM MOTTO “Together We Labour, Together We Learn” appropriately sums up our commitment to the cause of education and its resultant labour. Reason again, why we have emerged as one of the premier institutions in the Country today. Glen haven, that best describes the beautiful campus of the school. It is green as far as eye can see. On a clear day you can see the mist rising to the hill top.It is perfect for an environment of learning, away from the hustle and bustle of a city, in the lap of Nature. Just an hours drive away from Kochi, welcome to the blissful , calm environs of an international school- Labour India Gurukulam Public School. Located near Pala, the campus is spread over acres of greenery in the hills. The school is easily accessible from Ernakulum and Kottayam. The vibrant campus displays a fine blend of ancient traditions, modern thought and futuristic concepts. The sprawling campus houses the school, hostels and grounds. Aligned to the school campus is the college campus for BEd education. Located close by is the destitute home. The campus has untouched virgin green where Nature is left on its own. The quality of education is bettered with value additions in the form of thought provoking workshops and symposiums. While some of them are didactic in structure, other areas activity oriented. The children learn by listening, observing, problem solving, team work, and real life experiences. The school offers plenty of opportunities for the student to directly experience education at the international level Labour India Public School prepares the children for tomorrow giving them a wide ranging exposure which includes International seminars, workshops, study tours and group activity. With a dream to provide our students scientific and easier systems to learn Shri George Kulangara started his new endeavour “Labour India Publications” in 1983 at Marangattupilly. Within a short span of time Labour India rose to meteoric heights and attained the status of a peerless institution in educational publication. In the course of time, Labour India progressed from a Private Ltd Company in 1992 to a Public Ltd Company in 1995. Having started with a single magazine in 1983, we now produce nearly 50 specialized educational journals ranging from the primary level to the entrance exam level courses - all to quench the thirst of the student, teacher and parent communities and to win their hearty admiration. As modernization crept, it influenced each and every field. Even the education system was not unfazed by it. Mr. George Kulangara understood the effectiveness of this age-old Gurukulam System. He felt the need of resurrecting this system as he foresaw it as a crucial force in changing the contemporary education system. His idea germinated in the form of “Labour India Gurukulam School”. Here it is an amalgamation of the essence of the Gurukulam system and the modern education methodologies. What evolved from a dream to create a Gurukulam back in the year 1993, has emerged to be one of the premier educational institutions in India on par international standards, with over 750 students from 15 different countries. Labour India Public School & Junior College was founded by Mr. V. J. George Kulangara on 4th June 1993 in his hometown Marangattupilly in Kottayam, Kerala, South India. His Guru (Teacher), the late Prof. K. M. Chandy, former Governor of Madhya Pradesh, India, inaugurated the school. And from then on, there was no looking back. The Gurukulam at Labour India Hills has grown to become a model educational institute, embracing traditional values even as we impart an international educational curriculum.
